The imagery service (SEVIRI) is currently performed with the Meteosat-9. As the GERB instrument on Meteosat-9 is currently also in safe-mode (eclipse season), no geostationary broadband observations of the earth radiation budget is currently performed! We will let you know when the near real time GERB data dissemination will resume. No special operations were ongoing and prior to the safe mode no problems were observed. Following the safe mode, all operational services have been configured for Meteosat-9. The necessary configuration changes were implemented at 1800 UTC - configuration of the monitoring tools allowing the confirmation that the changes had been succesful at around 1830. DCP acquisition via MSG-2 was activated at around 1700 UTC. Investigation of the cause of the Meteosat-8 safe mode triggering is continuing. The main priority today was to confirm that the spacecraft configuration is ok for eclipse (as we are at the equinox today, the eclipse tonight is one of the deepest) - the thermal configuration was checked and ok. In brief, Meteosat-9 data now appears where Meteosat-8 was. The Met-9 'commissioning' stream has therefore been stopped on EUMETCast. best regards, Mikael Rattenborg, Director of Operations EUMETSAT Tel: +49 6151 807 368 Fax: +49 6151 807 304 Mail: Am Kavalleriesand 31 D-64295 Darmstadt Germany -- Ir.
