TOA4VAL: near-real-time dashboard validating the latest Top-Of-Atmosphere (TOA) radiative flux products.

The latest available daily mean Outgoing Longwave Radiation (OLR) and Reflected Solar Flux (RSF) from the CM SAF CLARA-A3 ICDR are compared to other near-real-time data records: CERES-FlashFlux, ERA5T (reanalysis), IFS (model), and UMD HIRS OLR (only for OLR). Statistics (leftmost figures) are calculated by aggregating all data records to a common grid (CERES 1°x1° nested grid), gap-filling them with ERA5T if needed (to ensure global coverage), and using gridbox area-weighting (to account for area distortion by the regular lon-lat grid). Daily RMSE is corrected for the daily global mean bias. The CLARA-A3 ICDR (Interim Climate Data Record) is accessible on the CM SAF WUI.

The CERES SYN1deg Ed4.2 daily mean fluxes are not available in near-real-time, but a comparison is nevertheless provided for the same day last year (corresponding to ), again for OLR (first row) and RSF (second row):
